Diploma of Surveying

Build your technical skills and take the next step in your surveying career with SRDITA’s Diploma of Surveying.

This 95-week nationally recognised qualification is delivered by SRDITA as a Registered Training Organisation, in line with the relevant national training package requirements and ASQA standards. The course is equivalent to approximately two academic years of full-time study in Australia.

The Diploma is designed for students who want to develop higher-level skills for land surveying, construction surveying and spatial information services. Students build practical knowledge in survey planning, measurements, calculations, plan interpretation, fieldwork coordination, use of surveying instruments, data processing and preparation of survey information.

Practical training and fieldwork are key parts of the course. Students gain workplace-style experience and learn how surveying tasks are planned, completed, checked and reported in a professional environment.

This course is suitable for students who want to move beyond entry-level surveying support roles and develop stronger technical, practical and supervisory skills for the surveying industry.

Successful completion may support employment opportunities in surveying and spatial information services and provide a pathway to further study, including the Advanced Diploma of Surveying or related higher education programs.

Qualification Description

This qualification reflects the role of skilled surveying technicians who hold advanced surveying skills and perform duties in the field involving precise measurements and setting out structures using specialised surveying equipment. In the office, they map onsite measurements and draft plans.
